The Very Reverend Katie Hargis
Dean of St. Mark’s Pro-Cathedral
I grew up in Southern Oklahoma where I was heavily involved in the youth programs of the Diocese of Oklahoma. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations from The University of Oklahoma and after college worked as a Youth Director at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken, South Carolina, and Christ Cathedral in Salina, Kansas. After discerning a call to ordination, I attended seminary at The School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. For the last two years, I have been the Rector of St. Cornelius Episcopal Church in Dodge City, Kansas. I am passionate about life-giving worship, preaching, involving children and youth, and engaging our neighbors and the surrounding community in new and transformational ways.
Joining me in Nebraska will be my dog, Abi, and parrot, Mack. In my free time I can be found outdoors camping, fishing, or gardening and I have an expansive collection of fun, colorful dress socks for just about every occasion.
